The First Day

March 10

Week of

March 24

Work crews began framing and establishing the walls on the foundation as scheduled on March 24.  By the end of the day of the 25th two walls had been positioned.  By the end of the week  the four outside walls will be set into place and the porches will be in.  The roof trusses should begin to be made by the first of April.

First Week in April

The roof trusses went up and plywood placed over the trusses.  Hammers were ringing and there was laughter amid all the Saturday crew as they struggled with the plywood placement.  It's beginning to look like a house!

Over the last week the inside framing was done, and the house is ready for windows and doors.

In May some of the work will be contracted out which is standard procedure for Loudon County Habitat for Humanity.  These jobs include sheet rock, plumbing, and HVAC. This will reduce the number of days that our volunteers will be working on the site.
